This is a great time for LinkedIn. In January LinkedIn announced it was going public. Last month it hit the 100 million member mark and it continues to grow at a rate of one million new members per week. There have been some new features added like LinkedIn Today with its mobile version to give you news about your industry. Last week a report by Ignite Social Media told us that LinkedIn has the most users who make $150K+ and is in the top 10 internationally of most educated.
Given all that is going on with LinkedIn, it’s a good thing that Jason Cormier has given us some tips on how to make the most of this awakened giant, as he put it. Here’s a summary on 3 of his tips:
- Sharing is Caring – Content should be shared. LinkedIn has made it much easier to share with their share button. If you don’t have the LinkedIn Share button yet, now’s the time.
- Leverage Expert Content with Advertising – In addition to getting attention and business by answering questions that speak to your expertise, promote your blog and content by using their small test ads. As of January you can target these ads by job title, company and groups.
- Be Part of the New News – Thanks to the new LinkedIn News feature you’re not only promoting your content, by sharing you reach beyond your area of expertise.
